Madrona Market was founded in 2004 by Chandra Jones, at the time a bored full-time administrative assistant and part-time amateur clothing designer. Chandra was tired of having to look so hard for clothing that was both fashionable and sustainably produced. She opened Madrona Market in a tiny storefront and stocked locally-made clothes for women and men. Word spread about this unique new clothing store, and in 2007, Madrona Market relocated to the former Anderson Mill building, which provided a much larger space for both the growing inventory and number of customers. As it has grown, Madrona Market has remained committed to its mission of bringing the best local, sustainable clothing and accessories to people.
